Senator Grant Mitchell

Senator Grant Mitchell

A short while ago, the federal government of Canada passed a budget package filled with all sorts of acts and bills that had nothing to do with stimulating the economy, but politicians wanted it done and the budget passed.  In the meantime, some of us said, “what’s this business about losing our right to paddle?”

The Canadian Senate heard from so many people who challenged the federal government’s idea of banning public access to our waterways, there will be public hearings to see what changes can be made to Bill C-10.

Senator Grant Mitchell is the Deputy Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, Environment and Natural Resources and now is the chance to make your voice heard.  Tell him why you want access to our rivers and streams.

The first public meeting will be in Ottawa on April 23rd.  If you want to view the webcast, click here and scroll down the page until you see “ENRG Meeting No.8.”
